The 384-kilometer cultural route through Gumushane is popular with tourists from throughout the nation who enjoy the outdoors. A group of 17 people, including kokartli guides, took part in the 5-day cultural route tour that was organised in Gümüşhane. Ersin Demirel, Turkey’s top hiking route guide, led the group. Demirel has written travel articles for numerous magazines and newspapers and introduced tourism to the nature and cultural routes of many Turkish cities.
Throughout the course of the programme, the visitors who travelled through the terrain of Gumushane, which is composed of 60% mountains, could not conceal their amazement at the vistas they encountered that exceeded their expectations. The party of 17 Istanbul residents, including academics who enjoy walking and history, successfully finished the activity and left the city.
The Eastern Black Sea Development Agency (DOKA) and the Gümüşhane Mountaineering, Nature Sports and Youth Association (GÜDAK) helped the Governorship of Gümüşhane create the book “Gümüşhane Cultural Route and Tourism Discovery Guide” in 2016. According to Ersin Demirel, the 384-kilometer Gümüşhane Cultural Route, which begins at Zigana Ski Centre and ends at mera Monastery, is one of the most stunning.

Demirel, who claimed that the geography of Gümüşhane is one of the unique geographies of the Black Sea as well as Turkey, urged those who have not yet visited there to do so. He said,
“During our event, the Krom Valley, the land of lonely churches on the steep hills with its impressive geography, deserted churches, alpine meadows, and magnificent landscapes, is a place that can only be witnessed in the current state of the old rustic houses that you will see Our team enjoyed every aspect of Yamurdere Village and Sarçiçek Rooms, two of the outstanding examples of traditional Turkish homes.”
Demirel said that the group, which loves both walking and history, has amazing passion and joy everywhere they go, they depart merrily, and Gümüşhane is a destination beyond expectations. Demirel also said that they will return to Gümüşhane with different groups throughout the year.
