The Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, the oldest and most prominent international film festival in Turkey, which marked its 57th anniversary in 2020, is without a doubt one of the most important festivals in Antalya. It is said that the festival is the “Oscars of Turkish cinema.” It hosts foreign actors and directors each year at the centre of Turkish cinema, making a lasting impression on the careers of many eminent filmmakers. The festival also offers support to a large number of emerging and independent filmmakers from Turkey and abroad. Every year, a variety of art-related festivals in Antalya, including film screenings, concerts, artist presentations and panel discussions, workshops, and more, are held.
Another well-known event in the area is the International Antalya Piano Festival, which is held in November and December at the Aspendos Hall of the Antalya Cultural Center (AKM). One of the biggest and most well-known sand sculpting festivals in the world is the Antalya Sand Sculpture Festival – one of the best festivals in Antalya. Professional sand sculptors from all over the world participate in it at a site measuring roughly 10,000 square metres. Each May, a new theme is introduced for the festival, which runs through October. Theme-specific music enhances the amazing ambiance that is created by the enormous sculptures that are lighted by LED lighting. The artwork can be seen by visitors while it is being developed by the artists. The sculptures’ development stages are also screened in the exhibition space. Visitors can view enormous sand sculptures all year long at the Sandland Museum (Antalya Sand Sculpture Museum).
