The picturesque Cappadocia region of central Turkey is well-known for its fantasy landscape, cave dwellings, amazing rock formations, and, of course, the hordes of hot air balloons that take to the skies each morning at daybreak. Additionally, Cappadocia offers so much fantastic hiking that it will take you at least a week to visit all of the area’s various hiking paths. I spent ten days in Cappadocia visiting the historic valleys, climbing all the hiking trails, and, of course, being charmed by the hot air balloons. In October of last year, 346 000 112 people visited the historical and touristic sites in the Cappadocia region. On the other hand, 3 million 627 thousand 940 tourists from both domestic and foreign countries visited the region between January and October of this year. 1 million 917 thousand 657 domestic and international visitors were welcomed in the area during the same period last year.
